Gents, great site; a lot of hard work obviously goes into maintaining it; brought back memories. I was assigned to Cat Lai, Newport and the Cogido barge (12/70-09/71). Was assigned to other 89th MP group units in-country prior to and after 458th. Will upload photos I believe I still have and provide to site (just moved; everything in boxes).

no one seems to be using the guest book since the move is it hard to find or are we not getting many visitors? A hit counter visable or hidden is a big help to judge how a web page is doing, the abilitly to search a large site is a big plus

Only been in contact now for a month, will make the 2011 reunion. I was in 458th from May '68-Dec '69. Spent time in Vung Tau, Cat-lo and Saigon. I was the mail room clerk in Vung Tau and Saigon, Maintenance clerk in Cat-lo. Only got out on the boats a handful of times. Hope to reconnect with more members now that I have the reins of webmaster. -Terry

Left Virginia in 1966 on the Maurice Rose to Cam Rahn Bay as a Marine Engineer. In 1967 I was sent to Phan Thiet, Saigon, and U-Tapao Airforce Base in Thailand. Looking for anyone that served with me during that time.

Great Site! I served in the 25th div Infantry in 67. I extended my tour and ended up in 68 attached to the 18th mps at Long Binh. I was attached to an L.C.U. crew at Cogido. They needed an E-5 who spoke some vietnamese. We went to Vung Tau and then trained on PBRS. I have a lot of memories and pics of Cogido. I also had a great time in Vung Tau.Good luck to all!

Knew a lot of you guys, but can't find your names on the roster..Bob Huinnegard, Ray Hyde, Rassmussen...where are you guys?? THe 720th MP's are having a reunion May 28th-31 2009 in Washington DC and since you guys were part of us you are all eligible to attend. Just go to the 720th Mp web site.720MPreunion.org and see if you can find some of the guys you served with on the roster. THe reunion informatin is there also. Would love to reunite we the guys I was on the boat with.

Richard Leibel is my dad. He and I became aware of this organization through Eric Barrow. Dad was in the initial D-day landing at Omaha Beach. Recently he told me that they nicknamed the DUKW he drove the "Patio" after the Patio Salad which was popular at a local Cincinnati restaurant. His citation was for assisting troops cross the Elbe River while under enemy fire. Dad has heard from Bill Northrop and hopefully Bill will be hearing from dad soon. Bill, he loves the hat and is impressed with the detailed work that went into the design.
